Woke up at 4 and then had a hard time
going back to sleep. Finally got up around 7:30 and Maureen was
doing some laundry and I went to the kitchen to warm some water for
coffee and cereal (hoping that last night was just a fluke but my
glass is half empty so I imagine it will likely be the same). I
think I let my mind play tricks on me a little bit because I just
wasn't able to eat all of the cereal. It still didn't look right
though. Oh well, on to the next one. Today was pretty low key and I
spent most of the time relaxing and reading. I walked to campus to
use the atm and then walked back. I stopped at gates to get a few
things from the supermarket (I'm really branching out with the
drinks...I had a gatorade today, orange flavor) before heading home.
It's hard to believe that I've really only got a couple days left in
Kumasi (the rest will be spent mainly in Accra but we will go to
various areas around the souther end and we plan to visit Togo as
well). It was pretty warm today but the humidity was crazy, my
entire shirt was dripping wet. I came in and took a shower and
relaxed for a bit, watching some reruns and whatnot. I had some
lunch, the curry pasta and laid low for the rest of the evening.
Maureen knocked a few hours later and said she had made some dinner
(rice and salad [she always arranges the salads so wonderfully]) so I
obviously joined her. Now it's just a matter of reading and falling
asleep. I think tomorrow that I may be going to Bekwai but there
hasn't been any real certain communication so I guess I will just
have to wait and see.
