Day 65 (sunday)

Such a sweetheart!

Really gonna miss this one.

Me and the family...I love these guys!

Woke up once in the middle of the night for the bathroom and went back to sleep just fine. I was rudely awakened by the phone (Maureen's number works now but apparently not everyone has gotten the message) and couldn't get comfortable afterwards. I gave her the phone and she told me that her phone was out of battery and her stuff was with her mom. I made some oatmeal and some coffee and then worked on the blog. Time to relax for a bit. Later today I will join Maureen at her family's place (campus family) and will have the opportunity to meet her biological mother as well. Should be a pretty good day. I was around the house for quite sometime just relaxing and reading and then got a call from Kwadwo saying that he was going to bring my shirt to me (we left it in his car when he drove us away from the funeral). Shortly afterwards, Maureen suggested that I make my way to her family's end. I wasn't exactly sure how to get there (I knew what was close by but that's all) and I didn't have any credits on the phone. I waited for several minutes and then decided to walk up the street to buy some credits so I could call Kwadwo to check and see what his plans were and to touch base with Maureen. As I was walking, Kwadwo was driving towards my place and asked where I was headed. He knew where I was going and drove me to the place, it worked out well. The girls came running out to hug 'uncle Brandon' and were so excited to see me as I was excited too. It was nice to have everyone together and we all enjoyed each other's company (mummy was sick so she was less enthused). We had some dinner (boiled yam, boiled plantane, and some kind of stew that I hadn't tried before) and took some pictures. They read passages from the bible and talked about it afterwards and then we all bowed and prayed. As it was approaching time to go (the girls had to go to bed) the girls all began crying, wanting to be a part of the action. We set off and Maureen informed me that she would be staying on campus with her mom (whom I never got to meet) and they would drop me off at the hostel. I made it home safely and stayed up for a bit longer than expected but caught up with some good friends. It was absolutely lovely to see the family!
