A booth at the little market we went to. |
Woke up around 6 (and sometime earlier
for the usual midnight bathroom break) and Maureen shuffled in just
before 7. By the time I got out of the room, she was in the kitchen,
cleaning and doing some dishes and had already prepared some water.
I had coffee and oatmeal. I didn't finish the oatmeal because I saw
a little dark thing in it (usually it's just blackened oats) and
realized that it was some kind of bug (that's a common thing to see
so I wasn't too grossed out). I laid back down and began reading and
listening to music. Maureen came into my room for a little while and
told me that she had just gotten off the phone with the boy's mother
(the one we took to the police station) and she informed Maureen that
she wanted to come to our end of town and thank us for caring about
her son and doing what we did. She also informed Maureen that the
boy was in school today and got his younger brother and left school
and that it was not uncommon for him to do things like that for up to
two weeks at a time. She said she has just become accustomed to
waiting for him to return. It was kind of bothersome but I am still
happy with what we did and would probably do the same thing again
(I'm not sorry for what I did but would have been sorry for not
knowing). I think that we will go to a market today and get some
food and then who knows after that. We were about to set off for a
market nearby, in fact, within walking distance even, and it started
raining really hard. It let up a while later and we left for the
market. On our way we noticed that one of the stands had red
plantanes so we could get them there if all else failed. The market
that we went to was interesting and kind of tucked away behind some
of the street level buildings (ones that I pass everyday but had not
much of an idea that there was a market behind it). We picked a few
items and checked throughout the market but had no luck with the
plantanes so we just went back home. After we put all the groceries
away, I went back out to the stand that had the plantanes and as soon
as I got there, a woman had just bought the last of them so, no dice.
Dinner was a nice curry pasta with vegetables (I had 2 servings but
Maureen didn't like it much). Later in the evening, I warmed up some
water for cereal and after I mixed it together, I noticed that the
consistency was off. I started eating it and still something was off
and then I thought I saw a bug (similar to a weavel but white, almost
clear) and then I couldn't stomach anymore of it so I dumped it out.
I read a bit and laid down at a decent time and that was it for the
evening. The best part of the day...Alex!
