Day 56 (friday)

Woke up around 5 today and couldn't really fall back to sleep. I kept myself busy for a while and then made some breakfast and did the dishes (usually they are already done but I did it so Mo wouldn't have to). My tummy is a little upset but it's nothing serious, otherwise I have just been sitting at the computer listening to music and writing in my observations log. I was set to fix some food but there is no more gas (that is something that each person has to chip in for and we aren't going to be around long enough to make it worth it to buy a whole new unit) and the power has gone out. I haven't left today because it has been raining but it lightened up a bit and I decided to walk to campus and withdraw some money. I got all the way to the atm's (there are about 7 of them representing different banks) and the one that accepts my card (and the one I have been using) was not working this time so I was kind of out of luck. We are headed out to a tailoring shop and also up north this weekend so I need something. We will have to go a little (ok, more than a little) bit out of the way as we head towards the tailoring shop so I can get some money but I guess we'll see. Nursing a little bit of a headache is always nice. We headed out and made our way towards the stadium and walked around for a bit and got in touch with the contact at the tailor shop. We stayed around for just a little while and dropped off the fabric and started walking out of the neighborhood to grab a taxi (Maureen was telling me that her leg was hurting a bit and she's not one to complain about physical pain so I knew it was painful)that could take us back across town to a Barclays bank (which happens to be the only atm I have found that will accept my card) and we had to walk up the streets and make our way to the bank only to find out that the atm I had used before was out of service. Fortunately someone walking by suggested that the bank had another atm around the corner that was working. It worked and then we had to make our way back down towards the junction where cars were picking people to go to tech junction and then home. I bought some ground nut candy and when I looked back, I saw Maureen helping an elderly lady with some bags cross the street. I met back up with her and we set off for the house and I was completely exhausted. She was in good spirits as a good friend was awaiting her arrival and she was happy to see him. I made some food and laid down and realized that it was only 7:30. Maureen spoke with her friend and he agreed to take me tomorrow morning to Kintampo. I am so lucky to have such wonderful people around me. Early night tonight as I will have to get up at 5 tomorrow and get ready for a long day but one that should include some waterfalls and a monkey sanctuary. I was just getting ready for bed and noticed that my ma was online so I chatted with her for a bit because I wanted to see my Zoe (I know, I'm pathetic) and just as we were about to wrap up, my aunt and uncle rolled in and it was absolutely fantastic to see them, such wonderful people!
