Woke up around 6 for the usual routine.
I read for a little while and then decided to iron my clothes. It
took awhile so I split it up with some lunch. I finished ironing and
Maureen came back to the house as the conference was at break for a
couple hours. Today has been pretty low key but I will probably go
out for a walk or something so I don't get too fat. Decided to go to
gates for a couple of things and Maureen was on her way to campus
and suggested that I go with her so I could get a ride as far as
gates. I obliged but had to get out a little early because the road
was closed (it has been for a couple of days). I had some headphones
on and started walking back to the house and I was just about ¾ of
the way there when a car stopped, I glanced over and noticed it was
daddy (Maureen's campus family) and he offered to take me back to my
place as he was heading that direction to pick the girls up from
school. I asked if I could join him and he gladly took me to pick
them up. They were so excited when I showed up and ran out to hug
me. It was so good to see them and they kept telling me “uncle
Brandon, we don't want you to leave” and it made me realize that
I've only got a little over a week left in Kumasi and I don't think
they quite comprehend that. I got back home and finished what
Maureen had left for me (she came home to make some food for her
mother and took it back to campus with her) which included sliced
mangos and fried red plantanes (so yummy!). The rest of the night
pretty much consisted of some light reading. My eyes were so heavy
that I was literally having to hold my eyelids open (I was trying to
get in touch with the parentals with no luck). Then I just gave in
and I was out before I knew it.
