Woke up pretty early again and got to
chat with some pals which was nice. It's nice to have someone like
Brett around, keeps me grounded. Apparently Maureen made pancakes
this morning so that's what i'll have for breakfast. I have
absolutely no idea what else I am going to do today. After breakfast
I spent some time in the common room charging my computer and
watching more of the same things that I've seen. I came back to my
room to lay down and Maureen came knocking and we sat and had a long
chat and she was telling me of a person whom she was friends with
(she has spoken of this girl several times) that had traveled to the
United States and just died in an accident. She was pretty broken up
over the whole thing and feeling sorry for her close friend here who
was missing her (they were making plans for him to travel to America
to be with her). We spoke for awhile after that about everything
from traveling to politics and so on. The power is still off and now
I will have to go to the supermarket because I am completely out of
food. We had planned on going to one of the bigger markets to get
food to make but for obvious reasons, Maureen wasn't feeling up to
it. She kept asking if I wanted to go to the market and I had to
tell her that she didn't need to worry about me and that she should
take time for herself, she almost seemed offended and insisted that
she would worry about me anyway. I was stubborn with this one (and I
think it was best for her as well) and stayed home and she ended up
leaving to go to her aunt's house. I needed to get a few things
(including coffee!) so I decided to walk to and from gates. I got
some more credits for the geek box and then came back home but then I
had to go into the common room again and sit with my computer so it
could charge. Mostly reruns again and some food (including a pretty
successful attempt at making a pancake). I went back to my room (the
power is still out in my room) and it was incredibly dark so I
chatted for a bit and touched base with a few people. The rain is
pretty crazy right now but I kind of like the sound of it. Ah,
Ghana.
