Part 2

Chicago was nice.  My friend Gina was able to come and  meet me at the airport and we caught up over dinner at a restaurant in the airport.  O'hare airport is as big as they say and confusing to navigate but I had enough time to find my way around.  Thanks for dinner.  Then it was on to the much anticipated flight which was a mere 8 hours and turned out to be pretty entertaining.  As the sky became darker, the moon became more vivid and I was now "flying with the moon over the Atlantic."  I sat next to a pleasant Russian girl named Natalia who was on her way to visit family in Russia.  She spilled her drink all over her seat and that broke the ice and we chatted the rest of the flight.  When the food was coming around they offered me beef or chicken and I told them that I had requested a vegetarian meal and she simply responded NO.  I suppose that's not much of a surprise so I ate a bland roll and a cracker and for the second meal I had a plain pastry and some orange juice and coffee.  Ah the life of a picky vegan :)  Just as we were about 40 minutes from landing I had decided to rest my eyes a bit but was rudely awoken when the stewardess ran the meal cart into my bad knee.  Needless to say I had finally arrived in London but by now it was just after 9 a.m. their time.
